Lois

Lois Uttley, one of HCFANY’s leaders and a co-founder of Raising Women’s Voices for the Health Care We Need (RWV), received the Allan Rosenfield Award today from the Public Health Association of New York City. The award was given out during the association’s 2016 Policy & Awards Breakfast.

Lois has been an advocate for women, the LGBT community, and improved public health for 25 years. Some of her recent work focuses on making sure that regulations requiring coverage for contraception and all medically necessary treatment for gender dysphoria are implemented fully. She used her remarks to highlight RWV’s health literacy campaign, which is helping women learn how to use their insurance coverage (check out their step-by-step guide and learn how you can help here).

We are proud to have Lois as part of HCFANY, and to congratulate her on this well-deserved award!
