New York Establishes 5 Exchange Regional Advisory Committees

Posted September, 7 2012 by arianne

Today New York State announced the creation of five Regional Advisory Committees to provide advice and make recommendations on the establishment and operation of the Exchange in New York. The committees are comprised of representatives of consumers, small business, health care providers, insurance agents and brokers, labor organizations and other stakeholders. Several HCFANY members will serve on the committees. We think that these Committees should be a voice for consumers and small businesses in Exchange planning, and we are delighted to see that many consumer and small business advocates were named to the five committees.  Committees will represent the following regions of the state:

  • Western NY
  • Central NY/Finger Lakes
  • Capital District/Mid-Hudson/Northern NY
  • New York City/Metro
  • Long Island

So far, meetings have been scheduled for four committees. Meetings are open to the public, but space is limited so register now. You can also view the meetings via live webcast.
