HCFANY has been working on incorporating health equity issues in all aspects of our work. Through our recently formed Disparities Task Force, we have been identifying opportunities for action, making recommendations to policymakers, and planning organized responses to current policy initatives.
2011-2012 Legislative Agenda
This year, HCFANY will be focusing on several aspects of health equity. Namely, relating to issues surrounding the implementation of federal health reform and the insurance Exchange, and specific proposals coming out of our Disparities Task Force, such as language access in health coverage and standardized data collection and reporting. Please see our 2011-2012 Legislative Agenda for more information.
Upcoming Events:
Cultural Competency Workshop: (February 19, 2011): HCFANY’s Disparities Task Force will be co-hosting a workshop with Family Planning Advocates during this year’s Black & Puerto Rican Caucus weekend in Albany. For more information, or to register, contact Lea Webb at lwebb@citizenactionny.org
