It’s been an exciting year for quality, affordable health coverage in New York. Last year, HCFANY achieved three big wins for affordable, quality health care: (1) the approval of a Basic Health Program for low-income working New Yorkers; (2) protections for New Yorkers against surprise medical bills; and (3) funding for post-enrollment consumer assistance. What’s more, nearly one million New Yorkers enrolled in health insurance plans during the first open enrollment period of the NY State of Health Marketplace.

In 2015, HCFANY will seek new coverage options and improved benefits to help close the gap in affordable, quality health insurance. HCFANY will advocate for vital consumer assistance programs that help New Yorkers navigate their health insurance plans. And, HCFANY will continue to monitor developments in the Affordable Care Act, the federal Children’s Health Insurance Program, and payment and delivery reform efforts that effect the quality and cost of care New Yorkers receive.
