Join Health Care for All New York (HCFANY) for a webinar to learn more about the Essential Plan. The Essential Plan is a new health insurance product that will be offered for the first time in New York during the 2015 – 2016 Open Enrollment period. Consumers who earn more than the Medicaid eligibility limit but still have difficulty paying for private health insurance will be eligible for affordable, comprehensive coverage under the Essential Plan. The 1 hour webinar, presented by the Empire Justice Center and the Children’s Defense Fund – New York, will detail the Essential Plan’s eligibility rules, benefit design, cost-sharing and enrollment procedures. We will take a close look at how immigration status affects eligibility for consumers. The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes, followed by 15 of Q&A.
