Pass the CCCA: Press Conference at State Senator Funke’s Office
2017 Jun 05 - 10:00am-12:00pm - 230 Packetts Landing, Fairport, NY
Host: Rochester NOW and Action Together Rochester
NYS Senator Rich Funke Opposes the Comprehensive Contraception Coverage Act (CCCA) because he thinks the morning after pill is an abortifacient (it is not), and after reading comments some of his constituents wrote on a survey, which had nothing to do with women’s health, he has determined the people in his district are not in favor of this Act.
Join us (bring signs) for a press conference when we explain that Senator Funke is wrong about the morning after pill and that women’s health demands more thought than reading comments.

The CCCA is NY legislation which, if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, will require NY insurance companies to provide access to free contraception. The Act has passed the NYS Assembly, but the Senate has not allowed it to come to the floor for a vote.
Speaking at the press conference will be Kelly LeBlanc, Vice President of Rochester NOW and Action Together Rochester Women’s Rights Team Lead; Jaclyn Richard, President of Rochester NOW; and Matt Brown, MD, a family physician and candidate for Perinton Town Council.
