Join Us for an Expert Panel on the Health Care Affordability Crisis
2019 Apr 29 - 10:00am-11:30am - 633 3rd Ave, 10th Floor, New York, NY
Host: Community Service Society of New York
A new survey commissioned by the Community Service Society of New York and Altarum reveals that more than half of New Yorkers are burdened by unaffordable health care – and nearly three-quarters are worried about future health care costs.
Even though the State failed to act, there are some exciting things happening locally in New York City to address this crisis. Join us April 29 at 10:00 am to learn more! Our expert panel will be moderated by David Sandman, President and CEO of the New York State Health Foundation, and will feature:
-
Elisabeth Benjamin, Vice President of Health Initiatives at CSSNY, will talk about the survey data, why health care is still unaffordable for so many, and how the city is addressing health equity.
-
Dr. Mitch Katz, President and CEO of H + H, will speak about the role NYC’s public hospitals play in caring for the uninsured and about NYC Care, the Mayor’s ground-breaking initiative to provide care to all uninsured New Yorkers.
- Rodrigo Sanchez-Camus, Legal Director at the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation will talk about the power of community groups and the innovative ways they help New Yorkers access care.
