Ex-Governor Pataki's Pants Revealed to be On Fire

FactCheck.org has debunked a series of statements made in ads released by Revere America, a conservative group backed by ex-Governor George Pataki.   The ads have been aired against Reps. Carol Shea-Porter of New Hampshire and John Hall of New York’s 19th District, and make several false claims about the new federal health reform law.   Among these are claims that the new law will cause healthcare costs to rise and that people will lose their “right” to see whichever doctor they want.

Factcheck.org, a non-partisan non-profit organization, has found that these and other claims were in direct contradiction to CBO estimates and based purely on speculation and opinion from Revere America, which is actively campaigning to repeal the new law.  When asked for proper citations to back their claims, the conservative organization was unable to produce anything of substance to support their statements and in fact were found to have misrepresented several sources.
