NYFAHC Denounces S.8354/A.11680

The New York State Senate and Assembly are currently debating last minute health reform proposals in the form of S.8354/A.11680. New Yorkers For Accessible Health Coverage (NYFAHC) opposes the bill, asserting that the few worthy goals that the package achieves are greatly outweighed by the many concession to the insurance industry that these bills contain.  If passed, NYFAHC contends, S.8342/A.11680 would erode consumer protections currently in place, leading to a system in which insurance plans will have more freedom to increase rates and to manipulate those rates to discriminate against older and sicker consumers.  Please see www.cidny.org for more information.
