Starting January 1, 2014, you can get free or low-cost health insurance at a new Marketplace, called NY State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace. It will open on October 1, 2013.

HCFANY Comments: Proposed rates for off-Exchange health plans

HCFANY’s review of the proposed rates for the non-Exchange plans, which were released in May 2013.  We found the average Silver-level plan to be about $500 per month.  These same plans sold on the Exchange will be even more affordable for New Yorkers who qualify for premium tax credits to further lower costs.
