People’s Accountability Session – Outside Rep. Zeldin’s Fundraiser
2017 Mar 23 - 5:30pm-7:00pm - The Hunt & Fish Club, 125 W. 44th St., New York, NY
Join us for a “People’s Accountability Session” outside a $500-a-plate fundraiser for Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-Long Island):
This week, Congress is planning to debate the new Republican health care bill that will gut the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and decimate Medicaid. A floor vote is scheduled for this Thurs. March 23, the same day as this fundraiser, and also the 7th anniversary of the signing of the ACA by President Obama. 24 million Americans will lose coverage under their bill, including 1.1 million New Yorkers. Meanwhile, the super-rich will waltz away with large tax cuts.
Who will Lee vote for?
- Low and moderate income people who need affordable health insurance?
- Seniors and people with disabilities who need home care?
- Women who rely on Planned Parenthood for reproductive health services?
- Kids who need periodic well-child screenings?
…or insurance company CEOs and their wealthy friends?
