In an effort to avert the looming fiscal crisis, Governor Paterson issued a series of cost-savings proposals on Monday which included shaving the State’s Medicaid budget by $506 million. On Thursday, Medicaid Matters New York (MMNY) issued a response to the Governor’s plan which urges the legislature to resist cuts to home care and local assistance funding for community-based services.
