Earlier this week, WNYC, New York’s public radio station, launched a new series that explores the forces driving huge disparities in the quality of patient care in the labor and delivery wards of metropolitan New York City Hospitals. The series aims not only to raise awareness about these disparities, but also to help expectant mothers assess their hospital choices.
Recent segments of the series include: mothers sharing their stories about child birth, discussion of racial disparities in childbirth complications, maternal health improvements underway in Brooklyn hospitals, and how expectant mothers can navigate hospital information to choose the best hospital for them.
