The Celebration Continues!

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law. This week the HCFANY blog will highlight how the ACA has already improved health coverage and care for millions of New Yorkers. Yesterday we shared some of the reasons seniors have to celebrate. Women in New York also have a lot to celebrate:
- 1.3 million women now have preventive services without cost sharing through their private insurance plans.
- More than 2.5 million women no longer have a lifetime limit on their health insurance plan.
- Women are among the 2,632 people to gain coverage through the New York Bridge Plan, New York’s pre-existing condition insurance plan.
Join us this Thursday for an event in Brooklyn, Charting the Life Course for Women: Our Choices through Health Reform, sponsored by Brooklyn Perinatal Network and Raising Women’s Voices-NY.
And tune in tomorrow to learn how the ACA has benefited New York’s children and young adults.
