Reform by Reconciliation

A legislative tangle ensues on whether reconciliation will be included as a method to resolve the 2010 federal budget. House Democrats want reconciliation included in the final budget-this would allow the Senate to pass health reform legislation by majority, instead of the traditional need for 60 votes. Reconciliation would also prevent a filibuster. The issue did not get any closer to resolution over the spring recess. Read more here.
