HCFANY Spring Meeting 2016 Recap
Posted June, 10 2016 by carrie
On Tuesday, June 7, nearly 70 HCFANY members from across the state gathered in Albany for the annual Spring Membership Meeting to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen our current initiatives. Many thanks to all who joined us!
We heard updates from our members on outcomes from the most recent budget session, improving patient access to providers and prescription drugs, rate review activities, outreach and enrollment for the remaining uninsured, post-enrollment services, and expanding health coverage and care for immigrants.
Special guests Robert Restuccia, Executive Director of Community Catalyst, and Angela Jenkins, Project Manager for Value Advocacy, presented on consumer advocacy for health system transformation. The slides are available below.
We were also honored to present our annual “Consumer Champion of the Year” Award to Assembly Member Richard Gottfried, Chair of the Committee of Health, for all of his hard work and continued support of our efforts to ensure that all New Yorkers have quality affordable health coverage.
The meeting concluded with discussion and planning groups on HCFANY’s Value Advocacy Project and the Coverage 4 All Campaign and meetings of the Children, Youth, and Families Task Force and the LGBT Task Force.
